The Essex Collection

The Essex collection was born of my love for the history of American whaling, and the tragic story of the whaleship Essex and her crew in particular. The events of the whale ship Essex and her demise were part of what inspired Herman Melville’s writing the classic “Moby Dick”. I was happy to find vintage frames for this collection- I love to be sustainable in my practice whenever possible. I hope you enjoy this collection of tempestuous sea paintings as much as I enjoyed creating them.
